If your GP refers you to a specialist, you have the right to choose where. Sooner finds where you'd be seen soonest and writes the request for your GP, in a WhatsApp chat.
Sooner is an independent service from Sooner Health. It is not part of the NHS and does not give medical advice.
Example only: names and waiting times are made up.
In your own words: "knee pain", "ADHD assessment", "cataracts". We match it to the right NHS specialty and check you can choose.
NHS hospitals and NHS-funded clinics near you, ranked by typical waiting time, using published NHS figures. In person or by video.
A clear, polite request naming the place you've chosen, ready for your practice's online form, then reminders until you have a date.
In England, when your GP refers you for a routine appointment with a specialist, you can choose which hospital or NHS-funded clinic you go to. Waits for the same treatment can differ by months between places a short drive apart.
Sooner will cover every specialty that takes routine referrals. These are where waits differ most.
Using your right shouldn't cost anything. Plus is for people who want it done for them: the letter, the chasing, the alerts.
No payment now. Reserving just tells us you'd like it; you'll choose whether to buy when Sooner opens.
We're opening to a small group first, starting with the specialties people are waiting for most. Tell us a little, and we'll invite you as soon as yours is ready.
We'll email you as soon as Sooner opens for you. Want to be invited sooner? Share your link: every friend who joins with it moves you closer to the front.
Know someone on a waiting list? This might save them months.
No. Sooner is an independent service from Sooner Health. We help you use a right the NHS gives you, using published NHS waiting-time figures, but we aren't the NHS and we don't book appointments on its behalf.
No. Choosing where you're referred is your legal right in England. You join the list at the place you choose, like anyone else referred there.
No. You're choosing between NHS hospitals and NHS-funded clinics, so your care stays free. Sooner itself is free to check; Plus is an optional extra for the letter, the chasing and alerts.
Never. We don't diagnose, judge how urgent something is, or suggest treatment. That's for your GP and your specialist. If it's urgent, call 111, or 999 in an emergency.
Most referrals for routine care can go to any provider that offers the service on the NHS. If your practice is unsure, Plus explains the rules politely and helps you follow up. If it doesn't help, Plus is refunded.
The right to choose described here applies in England. The other nations have their own rules, and Sooner doesn't cover them yet.
For the waitlist we keep your email and anything optional you tell us, in the UK and EU, only to invite you and plan which specialties to open first. We never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it any time. See the privacy notice.
